The brand, best known for the AK-47 assault rifle, displayed the strongly retro-looking light blue model, the CV-1, at a protection expo outside Moscow.

The look was propelled by a Soviet hatchback display created in the 1970s called "Izh-Kombi," an announcement on the Kalashnikov site said.

Holding organization Kalashnikov Concern said it has built up some forefront components for the "electric supercar", including a "progressive" inverter. The vehicle can travel 350 kilometers on one charge.

"We are building up our own idea of an electric supercar, which depends on a few unique frameworks created by the worry," the firm said.

"This innovation will give us a chance to remain in the positions of worldwide electric auto makers, for example, Tesla and be their rival," RIA-Novosti additionally cited the Kalashnikov squeeze benefit as saying.
