Facebook Fugitive Paul Ceglia Fights US Extradition in Ecuador

A New York man accused of attempting to cheat Facebook author Mark Zuckerberg is battling removal from Ecuador where he was captured in the wake of escaping before his preliminary in the United States over three years prior.

Paul Ceglia, 45, a wood pellet sales representative, confronted charges of mail misrepresentation and wire extortion over his asserted manufacturing of records to coerce Facebook and Zuckerberg. In March 2015, he evacuated his lower leg wrist trinket and vanished with his better half, two children and pooch.

His capture in Ecuador was reported on Thursday.

Ceglia in a court hearing on Saturday said he would not like to be removed, contending his life was in danger.

"The judge's goals shows that the removal procedure proceeds and that he his still confined," said Ceglia's attorney Roberto Calderon by phone. "I figure the procedure will most recent 45 days."

He said the removal settlement between the United States and Ecuador does not cover the wrongdoings of which Ceglia is blamed.

The criminal case emerged from Ceglia's lead identified with a 2010 common claim he had documented against Zuckerberg.

Ceglia guaranteed that Zuckerberg had, while an understudy at Harvard University, marked a 2003 contract giving him half of an arranged long range interpersonal communication site that later progressed toward becoming Facebook.

US District Judge Richard Arcara in Buffalo rejected Ceglia's claim after another judge said the agreement was doctored.

The market estimation of Menlo Park, California-based Facebook is about $500 billion (generally Rs. 35 lakh crores), and Forbes magazine said Zuckerberg's own particular total assets is about $64.8 billion.

Ceglia was criminally charged in November 2012.
